Two years ago, the LHS hosted their first socially-distant outdoor nature walk at the Chickies Rock County Park in Marietta, PA. We thought it would be fun to return for our final outdoor nature walk of the 2022! Chickies Rock County Park is along the Northwest River Trail, a paved path that follows the Susquehanna River for approximately 14 miles. This trail is home to an abundance of wildlife, including reptiles and amphibians along with turkey, foxes, and many other fine creatures. On our excursion two years ago, we found an elusive milk snake at the end of the evening. Hopefully this trip will be as fruitful!
We plan to meet at the Chickies Rock County Park/Northwest River Trail Parking Lot shortly before 7pm, and start the walk at 7pm sharp. If you arrive late, just walk in the direction of the big concrete bridge and try to catch up with us. The trail is open until sunset, which is around 8 PM this week.
Also, the month of September will be our return to indoor meetings!
Meeting Date and Time
The meeting is this Friday, August 19, 2020, 7 PM, EST.
